American Battery Factory Statement on First Phosphate Partnership
First Phosphate, a mineral development company dedicated to supplying raw materials for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry, recently announced the selection of a Quebec site for their 10,000-ton iron phosphate precursor plant. The impact this will have on developing a North American value chain for LFP batteries is significant, and American Battery Factory looks forward to continued collaboration with its valued partner.
Last year, American Battery Factory entered an agreement with First Phosphate to support the production of more than 40,000 tons of annual fully North American manufactured LFP cathode active material. With this milestone, both companies move forward on the path toward energy independence and onshoring the full production of LFP batteries in North America. We appreciate the dedication that First Phosphate exemplifies in this space and lean on them as one of our sustainable raw materials development partners.
